Hamburg technical director Frank Arnesen has revealed that the Bundesliga club are interested in luring Dirk Kuyt away from Liverpool in the summer.
Questions have been raised over the future of the Reds forward, who has dropped down to a regular spot on the substitutes' bench.
"A player like Kuyt, who is still in good shape, can add something to any team," said Arenesen. "He is a real team player with an excellent attitude."
Despite Arnesen's comments, Kuyt's agent Rob Jansen has claimed that no talks have been instigated.
"There have not been any talks with Arnesen or with someone else from HSV," Jansen added. "Would Kuyt be interested in a move to the Bundesliga? I can't say anything about that. A lot of clubs have made enquiries, but there's nothing concrete now."
Meanwhile, Liverpool will take on West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.
