Liverpool midfielder Joao Teixeira has insisted that he will not think about his future at the club until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old's contract at Anfield runs out this summer, although negotiations are ongoing between the two parties to extend that deal.
The Portuguese playmaker revealed that he is keen to stay at the club, but also wants a more regular first-team role having made only five senior appearances for Liverpool.
"We are in conversations at the moment. My contract runs out at the end of this season. I want to stay but we will see what happens," Teixeira told the Liverpool Echo.
"I don't want to think about my future too much right now. I just want to play football. I want to enjoy this moment and try to build on it.
"I just have to keep working hard and keep doing my best in training. Whenever chances come along like this to impress Jurgen Klopp, it's up to me to show him that I deserve more chances."
Teixeira scored his first goal for Liverpool during Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Exeter City in their FA Cup replay.
