Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Liverpool.
Simon Mignolet spent this season acting as backup to Alisson in a role which restricted the Belgian to just two appearances in all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be prepared to part ways with Mignolet this summer, providing that he is able to sign a replacement for the 31-year-old.
According to The Mirror, that has led to the Liverpool boss showing an interest in McCarthy, who found himself in and out of the starting lineup during the current campaign.
The England international still featured on 25 occasions, although the 29-year-old was demoted to the bench during the final three months due to Angus Gunn being preferred by Ralph Hasenhuttl.
McCarthy still has three years remaining on his contract at St Mary's.
