Liverpool chiefs have reportedly been left surprised by suggestions that Sadio Mane could join Real Madrid during this summer's transfer window.
Madrid have been strongly linked with the Senegal international in recent weeks, and last month it was claimed that the 27-year-old had emerged as the Spanish outfit's leading transfer target.
However, according to The Athletic, Liverpool have no plans to sell the attacker this summer and have been left bemused by the rumours surrounding the former Metz youngster.
Mane has again been in impressive form for Jurgen Klopp's side during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 18 times and contributing 12 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
The Senegalese, who joined the Merseyside giants from Southampton in the summer of 2016, has a contract at Anfield until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
A recent report claimed that Klopp's team had identified Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Adama Traore as a potential replacement for Mane.
