Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly submitted a bid of £11m to his former club Borussia Dortmund for the services of teenage midfielder Christian Pulisic.
Having impressed in the Dortmund academy setup, the 17-year-old USA international earned promotion to the first team in February and went on to score two goals in nine Bundesliga appearances.
According to The Mirror, Klopp is "determined" to get the deal over the line before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday and has made a statement of "intent" with the size of his opening offer.
Dortmund will reportedly "resist all attempts" from the Reds to lure the young winger, who is also of interest to CSKA Moscow and Stoke City, even though his first-team chances may now be limited following the return of Mario Gotze to the Westfalenstadion.
Earlier this year Pulisic became the youngest ever American to play in a World Cup qualifier when he was called up to the national side by manager Jurgen Klinsmann.
