Liverpool have today confirmed the signing of French full-back Aly Cissokho on a season-long loan deal, subject to the completion of relevant paperwork.
Cissokho completed a medical at Liverpool's Melwood training ground yesterday, before putting pen to paper on a one-year loan switch to Anfield.
The 25-year-old declared that the move to Merseyside will be a great learning experience for his career, but thinks that he has the right qualities to make an instant impact for the Reds.
He told the club's official website: "I'm very happy to be here. I think we have a great team and great fans and together we can achieve big things.
"It's going to be a great experience to be able to rub shoulders with the club's top-quality players. I have experience in the game, but coming here there will still be lots of things to learn and discover as I work with everyone every day.
"I can learn from my new manager, get to know the new style of play here, familiarise myself with different opposition teams and learn the language. It's going to be a great experience for me, and of course playing for the club for the first time is something I'm excited about."
The French international has played in the Champions League for three different teams, including former clubs Porto and Lyon.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers got a first chance to work with Cissokho in training today, with the left-back allocated the number 20 shirt ahead of Sunday's trip to Aston Villa.
