Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Oldham Athletic defender James Tarkowski.
It is believed that the 21-year-old has had up to 14 Premier League and Championship clubs watch him in action this season.
However, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has planned to steal a march on other suitors by submitting a £2m for Tarkowski to his League One employers, according to the Daily Star.
Despite the speculation, Oldham manager Lee Johnson recently admitted that he is eager to keep hold of his number six, having told reporters: "I want to keep him. He is a good player and hopefully he will not go."
Tarkowski has made 18 appearances so far this campaign, scoring two goals in the process.
