Liverpool have secured the signing of England Under-19 international Joe Gomez from Charlton Athletic.
The defender, who turned 18 last month, has signed a "long-term" contract with the Reds.
"It is with a heavy heart that we let him go, but we wish him all the best," Charlton CEO Katrien Meire told the Addicks' website.
"Joe is a very talented and humble young man and he has proven to be a shining light for our academy and a role model for all of the young players at our club."
Gomez, who made 24 appearances in all competitions for Charlton last season, told their website that he would "never forget where I came from".
He added on the Liverpool website: "It's a dream come true. It's a bit surreal and it hasn't really hit me yet. But I'm buzzing and just excited to get started."
Gomez is Liverpool's fourth capture of the summer, following James Milner, Danny Ings and Adam Bogdan.
