Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
Zieler, 33, has already had two spells in the Premier League in the past with Manchester United and Leicester City, and now a move to Liverpool could be on the cards.
Currently, he is the number one choice for the 2.Bundesliga side and has started all 15 games in the league this season, keeping six clean sheets.
According to German outlet BILD, Liverpool are considering a move for the former Germany international to bolster their goalkeeper reserves.
The report also reveals that Zieler is an appealing choice because he can be registered as a 'homegrown player' in the Premier League due to his development as a youth player for Manchester United.
The Reds are in the market for a back-up keeper due to the fact that their third choice, Adrian, is out of contract at the end of the season.
Plus, Caoimhin Kelleher has struggled for minutes so far this season and could seek opportunities elsewhere given his impressive performances under Jurgen Klopp last season.
Klopp, and Liverpool, are looking to plan accordingly with Adrian's contract running out and Zieler could be available for a bargain price with his deal running out next summer.
Having been capped six times by Germany between 2011 and 2015, Zieler was part of the World Cup squad that triumphed in 2014 and boasts experience across Germany and England at differing levels, totalling 360 appearances. body check tags ::
