Lille striker Jonathan David is being monitored closely by Liverpool, according to a report.
The 21-year-old initially struggled to fire at Les Dogues following his move from Gent last summer but soon hit his stride to help fire Lille to the Ligue 1 title.
Forming an effective partnership with Burak Yilmaz, David scored 13 goals and assisted three more in 37 Ligue 1 games as Lille pipped Paris Saint-Germain to the title, and his exploits did not go unnoticed from elsewhere.
According to Canadian outlet TSN, Liverpool are ready to move for David should he become available for transfer, with the Reds keeping a close eye on his development for a number of years.
Lille have already waved goodbye to Mike Maignan and Boubakary Soumare this summer but could be forced to offload more of their title-winning contingent in order to overcome financial difficulties.
David penned a deal with Lille until 2025 upon his arrival last year, and he played 76 minutes in his side's Trophee des Champions victory over PSG at the weekend.
