Liverpool are leading the chase to sign Bologna striker Gaston Ramirez, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The 21-year-old is rated as one of the best young forwards in Serie A and has already made the breakthrough into the Uruguay national team.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is keen to strengthen his squad in January and add some competition to a forward line which he believes lacks pace.
Ramirez has scored 7 times in 35 league games for Bologna since making his debut for the club in September 2010.
