Liverpool are reportedly ready to listen to offers for midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer.
The Merseyside giants have already been proactive in their bid for a midfield refresh, securing the services of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
While only the former will be regarded as a concrete option for the centre, Szoboszlai offers Jurgen Klopp an alternative when it comes to the most advanced option in a midfield three.
Klopp has effectively replaced two of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who have all been allowed to depart Anfield on free transfers.
With the German keen to continue his work in the market, it is plausible that a third fresh face could arrive in due course, yet there is uncertainty over some of Klopp's current options.
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have both been linked with a transfer to a Saudi Arabia, even though Klopp would likely be against parting ways with either player.
However, according to The Telegraph, Liverpool and Klopp hold a different opinion regarding Thiago, who has just one year left on his contract.
The report indicates that realistic offers will be considered for the Spain international before the end of the summer transfer window, but there is no desire to give Thiago a free transfer.
Thiago has spent the last three seasons with Liverpool, making a total of 97 appearances in all competitions in which he has contributed three goals and six assists.
Although there have been times when the 32-year-old has been influential during his time with Liverpool, injuries have hindered his efforts to cement a place in the team.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich has not played more than 25 times in any of his three Premier League campaigns, and he completed 90 minutes in just half of his 18 appearances in the top flight during 2022-23.
With the arrival of Mac Allister, Thiago faces a fight to get back into the team having missed the majority of the last three-and-a-half months of the most recent season with a hip injury.
Despite the prospect of becoming a squad option next season, Thiago has allegedly already rejected the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League.
