Liverpool are looking to strengthen their attack with moves for Werder Bremen's Marko Marin and Borussia Dortmund's Lucas Barrios.
With Luis Suarez serving an eight-match ban and Andy Carroll seemingly unwanted at the club, Kenny Dalglish is looking for additions to help secure a Champions League place.
Highly-rated Marin is first on the agenda with Stewart Downing the only recognised winger at the club. The 22-year-old has apparently been identified as a main target by Damien Comolli, according to The People. Tottenham and Inter Milan have also been linked with moves for the German international.
Dalglish is also in the market for a striker and Lucas Barrios seems to be the man that fits the bill for the Merseyside club. Barrios has lost his place at Dortmund after falling out with coach Jurgen Klopp. However, the Reds face stiff competition from QPR and Marseille, who are both tracking the Paraguayan striker.
Liverpool are through to the Carling Cup final against Cardiff and in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
