Liverpool reportedly sent scouts to watch Trabzonspor keeper Ugurcan Cakir in action during a recent match against Galatasaray.
The Reds made no major signings over the summer transfer window after Jurgen Klopp decided that he was happy with the options at his disposal.
However, according to Star, Liverpool are interested in making Cakir the club's second-choice goalkeeper after the 23-year-old impressed during a 1-1 draw with Galatasaray on Sunday.
The club broke the world transfer record for a goalkeeper in 2018, signing Alisson Becker from Roma for a fee of £66.8m.
Liverpool are set to face competition from Juventus, along with two other unnamed European clubs, for the transfer of Cakir next summer.
