Roma have reportedly told Liverpool that they will need to pay £37m in order to sign Miralem Pjanic in the summer.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to have chosen Pjanic as a replacement for Steven Gerrard, who will leave Anfield at the end of the season for a new challenge at MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
However, according to The Mirror, Liverpool have been told that only the club-record sum mentioned will be enough for Roma to consider selling the midfielder, whom the Reds reportedly value at around £20m.
Rodgers is believed to have held talks with Roma's director of football Walter Sabatini in Italy last week about a possible move for Pjanic.
