Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Hwang Hee-chan during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been a regular figure for Gary O'Neil's side in the Premier League this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 20 league appearances.

Hwang netted a first-half brace in the 4-1 win at Brentford last Wednesday but was forced off with a back injury before the break, however the forward returned to play 90 minutes of the 3-0 smashing of Sean Dyche's Everton on Saturday.

Since signing permanently from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 following an initial loan, the South Korean has netted 15 times in 53 contests for the Black Country outfit.

According to Football Insider, Premier League title chasers Liverpool and Tottenham have been scouting Hwang specifically during the opening months of the campaign.

The report claims that both the Reds and the Lilywhites have been impressed with the attacker's play so far, with the forward moving into a more central role for Wolves.

Although a transfer away from Molineux this month has not been ruled out for Hwang, it is understood that both Jurgen Klopp's and Ange Postecoglou's clubs are likely to make the move in the summer.

The South Korean's contract in the West Midlands originally ran to the summer of 2026, however amid standout performances from the 27-year-old so far this season, he was handed a bumper new deal until 2028.

Hwang will head to the Asian Cup with his country this month, meaning that Wolves could be less potent in attacking areas in the coming matches.

O'Neil's side are no strangers to transfer speculation swirling around some of their key players, with Pedro Neto linked with a move away earlier in the season.

Midfielder Matheus Nunes secured a big-money switch to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City prior to the campaign commencing, with the likes of Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes stepping up to fill the space left in the engine room.

It is understood that scouts representing Liverpool and Spurs have been impressed by Hwang's directness, skill and speed in recent months.

Despite their fondness, both the Merseysiders and the North Londoners are not set to bid for the South Korean in the January window and will wait until conclusion of the campaign.
