Liverpool have entered the race for the signature of Brazilian youngster Lucas Rodrigues.
The 19-year-old has also attracted interest from Manchester United, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
Anfield representatives have reportedly watched the player five times on behalf of Kenny Dalglish, during his performances for club Sao Paolo and the Brazilian senior team.
Rodrigues scored his first senior international goal for his country against Argentina in September.
The international interest has prompted Sao Paolo to offer the midfielder an improved contract that would keep him at the club until 2016.
Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League, with 19 points from 11 games.
