Liverpool are reportedly unlikely to make a move for Fulham's highly sought-after midfielder Joao Palhinha in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 28-year-old has established himself as a key player under Marco Silva since joining the Cottagers from Sporting Lisbon in 2022.
Palhinha came very close to joining Bayern Munich in the recent summer transfer window, but the deal fell through at the last minute.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool have now opted not to pursue their interest in Palhinha next month, given their costly midfield overhaul during the off-season.
Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister all joined the Reds during the summer.
The report adds that while Bayern are prioritising a move for a centre-back in the New Year, they have maintained an interest in the Portuguese midfielder.
The Fulham manager recently commented on Palhinha's future, stating that he anticipates interest in his services during the January transfer window and also mentioning that several clubs are already in discussions to secure the signing of the Portuguese international.
The London club could potentially earn a substantial profit on the player, whom they acquired from Sporting Lisbon for a reported fee of just £20m. body check tags ::
