Lyon have announced that they have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Switzerland international has been strongly linked with a move to the Ligue 1 outfit over the last few weeks, and it is understood that a fee of €11m (£9.5m) has been agreed between the two clubs.
A statement from Lyon read: "Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to have finally reached an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer of the Swiss international midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri, who was a key figure for his country at this summer's European Championship.
"Shaqiri, who is encouraged by the OL project, will arrive in Lyon tonight where he will be welcomed by Juninho. The finalisation of the transfer remains conditional on the result of the medical examination that the player will pass this Monday morning and the finalisation of the last administrative formalities."
The 29-year-old joined Liverpool from Stoke City in July 2018 and will leave the Reds having made 63 appearances in all competitions, contributing eight goals and nine assists.
Shaqiri, who is closing in on 100 caps for his country, has won the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time at Anfield.
