Liverpool's Takumi Minamino has expressed his uncertainty as to whether he will stay or leave Anfield this summer.

The Japanese international fell down the pecking order last season and was subsequently loaned out to Southampton in January.

Minamino is soon set to return to Merseyside for pre-season training back with the Reds and is keen to prove his worth under Jurgen Klopp.

"I don't know what will happen, but for now, for the preseason, I'd like to go back to Liverpool and do my best there," the 26-year-old told former Japanese footballer Atsuto Uchida.

Since joining Liverpool from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, Minamino has made 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Whilst on loan at Southampton, the versatile attacker featured 10 times in the Premier League, scoring just twice. body check tags ::
