Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno has insisted that he never expressed a desire to leave the Spanish club following speculation linking him to Liverpool.
The Spain international was thought to have been closing in on a switch to Anfield, but Sevilla's sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo claimed yesterday that an agreement could not be reached.
"I never said that I wanted to leave the team," Moreno told ABC de Sevilla. "I am happy here, Sevilla is the club of my life. There are many rumours but I only know that on July 7 I report back for training again.
"I am enjoying my holidays. We had a hard year and if I spent the summer thinking about [transfer rumours] then I can't rest. I am calm and my father and my agent will take care of my future."
Moreno made 29 league appearances for the Spanish side last season, and added three goals to his name.
