Newcastle United could reportedly make a shock swoop for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the summer.
Recent speculation had claimed that the England international was keen to leave Anfield due to the public criticism that he has received over his injury record.
That is believed to have alerted a number of clubs, one of which is Newcastle, according to the Daily Star.
The report adds that should the Magpies secure their Premier League status, they will launch a £30m bid for the 26-year-old at the end of the season.
Sturridge has scored twice from his five Premier League appearances this term.
