Paris Saint-Germain considered the possibility of signing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the summer, according to a report.
The Egyptian's future at Anfield has been heavily discussed in recent weeks as the Reds are yet to extend his current contract which runs out in 2023.
PSG would have been in the market for a new forward in the summer had Kylian Mbappe left to join Real Madrid.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, journalist Fabrizio Romano said: "Paris Saint-Germain were looking at this possibility [of signing Salah] earlier this summer, if they had the chance to sell Mbappe to Real Madrid. They were prepared to do something big and they wanted to try for Mo Salah."
However, Romano added that Liverpool would have had no intention of selling Salah, and that a new contract is still being negotiated with the 29-year-old.
Since arriving at Anfield from Roma in 2017, Salah has scored 134 goals in 212 appearances for the Merseyside club. body check tags ::
