Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has said that the club are "generally optimistic" when it comes to a potential new deal for Kylian Mbappe.
The 22-year-old has again been in excellent form for his French club during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 35 goals and registering 10 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.
Mbappe's current deal in Paris is due to expire next June, and he is expected to be sold during this summer's transfer window unless he pens an extension.
Real Madrid and Liverpool both continue to be linked with the World Cup winner, but Leonardo has said that PSG are still confident that the attacker will extend his stay at the club.
"Mbappe contract? We are generally optimistic. He still has a year on his contract. The time for the decision will come," Leonardo told Canal+.
The Frenchman has scored eight times and registered three assists in nine Champions League appearances during the current season. body check tags ::
