Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is believed to be top of Barcelona's list of replacements for Victor Valdes.
Blaugrana have repeatedly been linked with a move for their former star after current stopper Valdes announced that he will not be extending his contract at the Camp Nou.
Reports have suggested that a £10m bid may be in the offing.
According to The Mirror, the Catalan giants have also targeted Marc-Andre ter Stegen, 21, and Adrian Ortola, 19, as long-term prospects for the number one jersey.
However, Reina, who came through the youth ranks at Barca before joining Villarreal in 2002, is seen as an immediate option.
The 30-year-old left El Madrigal to join the Reds on a free transfer in 2005.
