Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign West Ham United defender Winston Reid in January.
Reid is out of contract with the Hammers next summer, with manager Sam Allardyce ready to cash in on him next month if they cannot tie him to a new deal at Upton Park.
The 26-year-old is keen on a winter switch away from East London and the Reds are in pole position to land him, according to The Mirror.
The report goes on to claim that Arsenal, who have also been linked with a New Year move, have pulled out of the race to focus on signing Ipswich Town's Tyrone Mings.
Reid has established himself as a key player in what has proven to be West Ham's best ever start to a Premier League season, with Allardyce's side fifth in the table, one point off fourth place.
