Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain during this summer's transfer window.
The Argentina international is thought to be keen to remain with the Serie A side beyond the end of the current season, with his father, who also acts as his agent, expected to meet the club to discuss a new deal in the coming weeks.
However, The Express reports that Brendan Rodgers's side will be ready to move in if the forward fails to agree terms with the Italian side.
The 27-year-old has scored 22 goals in 41 appearances for Napoli this season.
