Liverpool will reportedly be at the head of the queue if James Milner decides to quit Manchester City at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been a key performer for City this season, but his current contract at the Etihad expires at the end of the campaign.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he is desperate for the England international to sign a new deal, but Milner is stalling over wages and his role in the team when the Premier League champions have a fully-fit squad.
According to Goal.com, a number of clubs are monitoring developments, but Liverpool have shown the strongest interest in the former Leeds United youngster.
Milner is allowed to speak to foreign clubs this month.
