Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Inter Milan in a bid to bring Mateo Kovacic to Anfield this summer.
The midfielder, who has 19 caps for Croatia, is thought to be a long-standing target of Brendan Rodgers.
The Telegraph reports that representatives from the Fenway Sports Group, which owns Liverpool, flew to Italy to discuss a potential deal with the Serie A side.
The publication also claims that the deal is likely to cost the Reds £12.5m, with a £7.5m bid already thought to have been rejected.
