Liverpool have reportedly renewed their interest in Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.
The Reds lodged an unsuccessful £3m bid for Ilori in June, with Sporting demanding a fee in the region of £6m.
With the two parties' valuations poles apart, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers swiftly ended his pursuit of the 20-year-old.
However, according to The Mirror, Ilori's recent refusal to sign a new contract in Lisbon has given Rodgers fresh hope of agreeing a deal for the player this summer.
The paper claims that Liverpool and Sporting held fresh transfer talks earlier this week.
Ilori, whose current contract is due to expire in June 2015, has been capped 10 times by Portugal at Under-20 level.
