Loris Karius is reportedly set to return to parent club Liverpool after failing to impress during his time on loan with Union Berlin.
The 27-year-old was hoping to revive his career after linking up with the Bundesliga side on an initial season-long deal at the end of September.
However, Karius has yet to start a league game for Union, with his only appearance coming from the bench against Borussia Monchengladbach last week.
Despite regular keeper Andreas Luthe sustaining an injury in that 1-1 draw with Gladbach, Bild suggests that the capital club have no desire to keep the German on permanently.
Karius will therefore return to Anfield in the summer, it is claimed, at which point he will be into the final 12 months of his contract.
The former Mainz 05 stopper, who spent last season with Besiktas, last featured for Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final when gifting Real Madrid two goals.
