Liverpool are believed to be considering an offer for teenage Uruguayan striker Kevin Mendez, who comes recommended by their current forward Luis Suarez.
The 17-year-old, who plays for native side Penarol, was scouted by the Reds when he helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the Under-17s World Cup last summer.
According to The Mirror, Suarez has given Liverpool his seal of approval on his compatriot Mendez's talents, and the Anfield outfit are now trailing him closely with a view to a January bid.
La Liga duo Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, as well as Italian rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan, are also understood to be tracking the youngster, who is apparently valued at around £3m.
