Former Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler is reportedly training with Championship side Blackpool with a view to a permanent move.
The 36-year-old is expected to join the Tangerines on a free transfer after training with the club this week, according to Sky Sports News.
News of the surprise switch comes after reports suggested that the ex-Reds frontman was to play for Indian side Kolkata Camelians in the Premier Soccer League.
It is understood that the competition has been postponed, which may have swayed Fowler's decision to move to Bloomfield Road.
Reports have claimed that the Liverpool-born striker will sign a short-term deal with the former Premier League side following stints in Thailand and Australia.
