Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly hoping to add five new signings as the club prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
According to the Daily Mail, Adam Lallana of Southampton and Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker are high on the list of targets for the Northern Irishman as the Reds look to build on a promising campaign that has brought them within touching distance of a first league title in 24 years.
However, Rodgers has admitted that the club have been looking for potential recruits for some time.
He said: "The work has been on-going for a little while now, especially since we consolidated a place in the Champions League. I think we are a real attractive proposition to players through Europe. We are right on the football map now but we have got work to do.
"We will see how quickly we can get things done. I meet regularly with the recruitment boys. For them and their status when they are going to games in Europe, meeting agents and watching players, it has been great [qualifying for the Champions League]."
Liverpool can still win the Premier League tomorrow, but must beat Newcastle United and hope that West Ham United beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
