Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the club are working towards bringing in a "major signing" before the close of the transfer window on Friday.
The Merseyside outfit are yet to strengthen their squad this month having lost out on Basel winger Mohamed Salah, who opted for a switch to Chelsea instead.
Following last night's 4-0 win over Everton, Rodgers told reporters: "I think we will hopefully do something over the next couple of days.
"I saw some headlines after yesterday's press conference in terms of the manager being angry with the club - nothing is further from the truth. We are not just going to get the players we want to get in for a number of reasons.
"Hopefully we can have a major signing before the window shuts and if we can do that we will be set up for the remaining games."
Reports have emerged today claiming that the player in question could be Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yevhen Konoplyanka.
