Andy Carroll's future with Liverpool has been left up in the air after manager Brendan Rodgers stated that "you never know" what can happen.
The target man has been linked with a loan move to Italian side AC Milan recently and although Rodgers said he has heard nothing from the Rossoneri, he wasn't convincing on Carroll's future.
Speaking to reporters, Rodgers said: "He's a good player, Andy. He'll always be linked to clubs whether he's here or not. I spoke to Andy on his holidays, and he knows where he stands.
"I've spoke to a lot of the players and he's a very good young player. He'll be linked to many clubs because he's a good player.
"I haven't had anything from [Milan]."
Asked if the 23-year-old is a big part of his future plans at Anfield, Rodgers replied: "Initially it's about assessing the squad, you never know until you come in. The pre-season is broken up due to the European Championship."
Rodgers also said that he hopes to complete a deal for at least one new player by the end of this week.
