Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that winger Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract at the club within the next 24 hours.
The England international has been expected to sign a fresh five-year deal at Anfield following his impressive start to the season in the Reds' first team.
"There was never a real issue, it was just a matter of timing," BBC Sport quotes Rodgers as saying. "The kid is very focused and devoted to Liverpool."
The 18-year-old starlet, who was linked with an exit from the club following reported interest from rival clubs, moved to Merseyside from Queens Park Rangers in 2010.
