Stoke City have reportedly identified Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge as a possible transfer target ahead of the January window.
Earlier this week, the Potters were linked with a move for Sturridge's teammate Danny Ings, who could be allowed to leave Anfield on loan at the start of 2018.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Stoke boss Mark Hughes also has eye on trying to sign Sturridge on a temporary basis until the end of the season.
Liverpool allegedly have no intention of loaning out the 28-year-old, despite his lack of action this season, but the Staffordshire-based club will look to agree a deal with the Merseyside giants.
Southampton are also said to be interested in Sturridge and have funds to spend, having completed the sale of Virgil van Dijk to Jurgen Klopp's side earlier this week.
Sturridge has played just 100 minutes of football since the start of November.
