Fabian Delph has committed himself to Aston Villa by signing new deal which is set to keep him at the club until the end of the 2018-19 season.
The 25-year-old midfielder, whose previous deal expired at the end of the current season, was reportedly on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
However, the West Midlands outfit announced before their FA Cup clash against Bournemouth that he had put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half contract.
Delph told the official Villa website: "I am a loyal person and committing my future will hopefully show everybody what type of guy I am. There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run.
"The fans have been the same [with me]. I am sure they will stick with us, help us get through this season and then looking into the future, it looks promising to me."
Delph joined Villa from Leeds United in 2009, and made his international debut for England in September 2014.
