West Ham United have reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool over the capture of winger Stewart Downing.
Reports emerged last week claiming that the Hammers had begun talks with the Merseyside outfit over Downing, who has failed to live up to his £20m price tag since moving to Anfield from Aston Villa in 2011.
It appears that Downing's switch to Upton Park is edging closer after the two parties agreed a £5m fee, allowing the winger to travel to London to undergo a medical today, according to Sky Sports News.
Downing will be the second player that West Ham have poached from Liverpool this summer following the permanent acquisition of Andy Carroll.
