Liverpool have reportedly offered a new contract to midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who is being linked with a transfer away from Anfield.
While Wijnaldum remains as a key player for the Premier League champions, the 30-year-old's current deal is due to expire in 2021.
The status of the Netherlands international has inevitably led to interest from elsewhere, with Barcelona and Inter Milan ready to make an approach for the playmaker.
However, according to ESPN, Liverpool officials have moved to offer Wijnaldum a pay rise, hoping that it boosts their chances of retaining his services.
Having been deployed in different roles in midfield over recent weeks, Wijnaldum has proven his worth to manager Jurgen Klopp.
Should he opt against extending his stay on Merseyside, a pre-contract agreement can be reached with foreign clubs in January.
