Roma manager Zdenek Zeman has announced his intention to replace Liverpool-bound Fabio Borini quickly.
Borini is on the brink of completing a move to Anfield and Zeman has singled out Mattia Destro as a potential signing.
"I liked Borini, for me he was a good player," Zeman told Studio Sport. "We hope to replace him soon.
"Mattia Destro is a player I like, he is a talented youngster and he can play anywhere."
Destro enjoyed a breakthrough season in Serie A, becoming Siena's top scorer and making Italy's 32-man preliminary squad for Euro 2012.
Co-owned by Siena and Genoa, Destro's situation is complicated and his future may take some time to resolve.
