Scottish Championship outfit Livingston see their transfer embargo - set up in August this year - lifted.

Scottish Championship outfit Livingston have had their transfer embargo lifted.

The Scottish Professional Football League handed out a signing ban for an indefinite period on August 12 after the West Lothian club admitted that they had paid undeclared cash bonuses to players during 2010 and 2011.

The club have now paid Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs the outstanding tax payment and the SPFL has decided to retract the signing restrictions.

Chairman Gordon McDougall told The Daily Record: "We have been notified that the SPFL have lifted the signing restrictions. We were working with one hand tied behind our back so this is good news."

Livingston are currently six points adrift of Alloa in the second tier.
