Raphael Guerreiro's second-half finish handed Lorient a slender 1-0 win over travelling Lille in Ligue 1 this evening.
Lorient were the first side to threaten when Guerreiro combined with Benjamin Jeannot to test Lille stopper Vincent Enyeama down at his bottom right corner in the fifth minute.
Guerreiro looked impressive for the hosts and he produced an almost-telling cross for Benjamin Jeannot, who could only head over the bar from the centre of the box.
Lorient started the second half in a more dominant fashion and they found the lead through Guerreiro, as he turned in from close range following good work from Mathias Autret in the 59th minute.
Lille might have earned themselves something from the game had Kevin Koubemba put a little more behind his header, but instead he produced a tame effort that fell kindly into the hands of Benjamin Lecomte.
