Sebastien Thill's injury-time goal has secured a first win of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign for Luxembourg in the Group C clash with Macedonia at Stade Josy Barthel.
Both sides were already unable to qualify for next summer's finals in France, with Macedonia's only win in qualifying coming against bottom side Luxembourg last October.
Agim Ibraimi tested Jonathan Joubert with an eighth-minute effort and Besart Abdurahimi had a shot blocked for Macedonia, while Maxime Chanot forced Tome Pacovski into a save in first-half injury-time in Luxembourg's only chance of note in the first 45 minutes.
Abdurahimi had a great chance when he was denied by Joubert shortly after the restart and Nikola Gligorov's effort was also stopped by the goalkeeper as Macedonia looked the more likely to break through.
The Lokeren forward then missed a glorious late opportunity to secure Macedonia's second win in qualifying when he was fouled in the penalty area, but Joubert saved his poor attempt from the penalty spot.
The visitors were made to pay for that miss in injury time when Thill seized upon a poor headed clearance to control and finish past Pacovski and move Luxembourg off the bottom of Group C.
