Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted that his side have made an enquiry for Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere.
The former Arsenal forward enjoyed a successful campaign with Lorient last term, scoring 19 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.
Aulas had conceded that Lyon would like to sign Aliadiere, but are not prepared to meet his current asking price of £6m.
He told Eurosport France: "In sporting terms, this is a real track. But at this price, we do not even consider.
"In view of the market, the transfer price is between £2.5m and £3.5m maximum."
Les Gones boss Remi Garde is currently seeking a replacement in attack for Lisandro Lopez, who was given permission to leave the Stade Gerland this week.
