Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that striker Bafetimbi Gomis wants to secure a switch to the Bundesliga this summer.
The 28-year-old has seen two offers for his services from Newcastle United rejected by Les Gones, but he still looks likely to leave the Stade de Gerland over the next week.
While he admits that Lyon would like to keep Gomis, Aulas confessed that the forward is holding out for higher wages.
"For a year and a half we talked with him and his agents to find a solution," Aulas told French radio station RTL.
"Gomis refused six offers with Lyon because he wants to choose higher wages. He wished to go to a German club.
"Unfortunately, I have not had any offers from German clubs. It has never changed my mind about Bafetimbi, or the quality of the player."
Gomis has also been linked with a move to Ligue 1 rivals Marseille.
