Malaga got back to winning ways in La Liga with a 3-1 over Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda tonight.
It was Rayo Vallecano that managed to strike first on five minutes, after Jesus Gamez brought down Emiliano Armenteros in the area to give the away side a penalty. Diego Costa made no mistake from the spot.
Malaga began to push forward, with Joaquin seeing a shot saved by goalkeeper Joel in the ninth minute.
The home side continued to attack and Malaga created a fantastic opportunity on 25 minutes for Weligton, but the defender cannoned the ball off the bar with his header.
On 35 minutes, Malaga equalised through Rondon, who headed in an Eliseu cross.
On 58 minutes, Malaga took the lead with Rondon scoring after combining with Eliseu again to make it 2-1.
Malaga looked to end the game and made it 3-1 on 70 minutes, after Jesus Gamez set up Enzo Maresca for the header.
The game looked to be over until Willy Caballero gave away another penalty on 84 minutes. Roberto Trashorras tucked the penalty away to give Rayo Vallecano some hope.
All hopes of a comeback were soon thwarted when Duda extended Malaga's lead two minutes later.
The game ended 4-2, keeping Malaga on track for their target of European qualification.
