Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder has revealed that he has turned down the chance to join Inter Milan this summer.
The 21-year-old was said to be close to agreeing a long-term deal with the Serie A side, with the move expected to be signed off at the start of next month.
However, the midfielder has claimed that the deal is now off and he expects to continue at Malaga next season.
"It's true that I talked and negotiated with Inter, but I'm out of them now. I intend to continue here [at Malaga], but if the club tells me one thing and my agent tells me another [in regards to leaving], we'll see if it benefits everyone," Darder told AS.
"When my agent told me teams [like Inter] could be interested in me, it gave me adrenaline and extra strength to go out and play.
"Any player likes to be linked to good teams, but Malaga are one of the best clubs around. As for the weather, fans, squad, coaches, we have nothing to envy."
Darder, who started his professional career at Espanyol B, has a contract at Malaga until 2017.
