Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, Erling Haaland has faced Brighton & Hove Albion competitively five times, all in the Premier League, and although he has helped the Citizens come out on top on only two occasions, he has directly contributed to at least one goal (either scoring or assisting) in all five of his appearances against the Seagulls.
Haaland enjoyed his first top-flight encounter with the Seagulls in October 2022 as he scored a first-half brace in a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
His first goal was assisted by a sensational pump forward from goalkeeper Ederson, before barging Adam Webster and easily rounding the oncoming Robert Sanchez to then roll the ball into an empty net, while his second was smashed into the net from the penalty spot.
Haaland was unable to score during 90 minutes in the reverse fixture seven months later, as Man City were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton, although he did assist Phil Foden's opener that was soon cancelled out by the 2022-23 Premier League Goal of the Season fired in by Julio Enciso.
The following campaign, Haaland missed City's comfortable 4-0 away win over Brighton through injury, but he was on target in a 2-1 home victory in October 2023, driving at the Seagulls' defence before powering a left-footed shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner.
In November 2024, Haaland poked home a finish in off the crossbar in a 2-1 Premier League away defeat for the Citizens - his 75th Premier League goal for the Citizens - before converting a penalty in a 2-2 home draw in the reverse fixture in March 2025.
